Listen up, ladies! You can have whatever you want but if what you want is success, it will take a certain set of skills. One of those skills is gravitas. According to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, gravitas is defined as: a very serious quality or manner. I think of it as that je ne sais quoi factor of the leaders to whom I’m drawn. I can’t quite put my finger on what makes them amazing but whatever it is, I want it!
Can you think of one of those people right now?
The good news is that gravitas can be taught. Huffington Post Contributor and Executive Coach David Peck writes, “When done right, gravitas is not a mask–it’s effectively adding your unique value to important discussions while minding and maintaining important relationships.”
Queridas, I want this for you. I want for you to hone that skill so that you will have the tools you need to move up in your career, complete your degree or lead a community-based organization. Are you ready to learn?
