Is there a more exciting way to learn about American history than through LEGOS? Other than visiting Washington, D.C. in person, I can’t think of a more exiting learning opportunity than THE LEGO ® AMERICANA ROADSHOW: BUILDING ACROSS AMERICA. Mis chiquitos had a preview of these larger than life LEGO replicas of some of our nation’s most beloved landmarks.
Ten one-of- a-kind, large scale models of American landmarks made completely out of LEGO bricks by LEGO Master Builders will take over North Star Mall! Not only are these stunning visuals but you can also learn some fun facts.
These landmarks include:
- U.S. Capitol Building
- White House
- Supreme Court
- Washington Monument
- Jefferson Memorial
- Lincoln Memorial
- Statue of Liberty
- Independence Hall
- Liberty Bell
- Old North Church
I didn’t get to attend with mis chiqitos so I’ve included some fun facts for you about some of their favorite models:
DYK that the original cast of the Liberty Bell contained the following words from Leviticus 25:10 “Proclaim LIBERTY throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”?
DYK that the Statue of Liberty celebrates her birthday on October 28th in honor of the day she was officially accepted by the president of the United States in 1886?
DYK that There are 36 huge columns and each column signifies a state at the time of Lincoln’s death? However, the funny side is that the states were increased to 48 by the time the monument was completed. So, you will find the remaining 12 states, outside memorial wall.
DYK that the U.S. Capitol Building was built when Thomas Jefferson had a competition for which architect had the best design for $500.00?
Can you believe these models are all made out of LEGOS?! Those little bricks are are all over my house are quite amazing when put together like this. Queridos, don’t let your familia miss this free installment while it’s in San Antonio.
