Earlier this summer, I shared “Tips from ZYRTEC® to Combat ALLERGY FACE™” and before summer ends and we fall comes, let’s share tips from our mamitas and abuelas.
Carmen Ordoñez’s, beauty and fashion expert, personal motto is that you can look great without breaking the bank. You don’t need pricey beauty products to achieve great results. (Thank you Carmen!) In the second video of her three-part, bilingual video series, created in partnership with the makers of ZYRTEC®, Carmen shares her simple, do-it-yourself beauty solutions to help women tackle allergy-related beauty challenges. In part two, “Generations of Beauty Advice,” Carmen shares beauty tips that have been passed down from her mama y abuelita, including:
1. Use baby wipes instead of tissues, which are gentler on the skin to avoid irritating a red nose.
2. Try drinking watermelon juice. To relieve a puffy face. Watermelons are a high water content fruit and are an excellent source of antioxidants.
3. Eat more fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, celery and zucchini all of which have high water content to help hydrate a puffy face. Citrus fruits and berries are also rich in vitamin C.
4. Place two metal spoons in the refrigerator and then place the back of the spoons on your eyelids for five minutes to refresh your ALLERGY FACE™.

I’m blessed to have known and love(d) four of my abuelitas! From time to time have shared beauty tips with me too:
a. Use tea bags to help reduce puffiness around the eyes. Manzanilla (chamomile) is best and usually in the pantry anyway.
b. Wash your face morning and night. (I used to hate this when I was growing up.) They were right to encourage me to do this!
c. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! My grandma has never used crazy expensive products but regularly uses moisturizer and she looks great!
d. Take a bath with rose petals in the water. Rose petals help soften the skin plus, they are full of vitamins and antioxidants.
