¡Hola Queridos! It’s time for San Antonio to elect a new mayor. Previously, we would elect a new one or re-elect the same one every two years. In November 2024, the city voted to extend the terms from two years to four years. Our current mayor has termed out. So, it’s time to elect a new mayor who will serve our city for four years.
I knew I wanted to do something to help voters choose a candidate because there are so many candidates and none of them have been mayor before. The quiz and all of the links to various resources below are my best effort to help you choose the candidate that aligns with you and your priorities. Complete the quiz AND do your own personal research! Most importantly GO VOTE.

Other Things to Consider
Most of these candidates have done several interviews with local media outlets. Listen to them to learn more about each candidate in their own words.
The top eight candidates each sat down with David Martin Davies on Texas Public Radio’s The Source. You can find all episodes on the TPR website >> https://www.tpr.org/podcast/the-source They are the episodes dated April 13 – April 16. You will also hear listeners call in and ask questions in addition to their conversation with the host.
Local PBS Station KLRN also hosted the same top eight candidates on Decision 2025 | San Antonio’s Mayoral Candidates with host Henry Cisneros. Watch below:
There were also several open public debates and forums. Below are two that were livestreamed – The Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and San Antonio Report hosted “The Final Round” and a forum was held on the Southside of San Antonio at Palo Alto College and hosted by a variety of organizations. The Southside forum also was one of the very few that had more than eight candidates.
