Kid-Approved Healthier Drinks – Blueberry Banana Shake with #NestleNIDO

As we prepare for a new year, we are trying new solutions for a healthier lifestyle. My biggest challenge as a mom is to find healthy snacks that my boys will eat or drink and actually enjoy. One thing that always brings a smile to their face and mine is a milkshake! They are easy to make and the boys love their taste. We enjoy mango shakes, black cherry shakes, chocolate shakes and more.

To mix things up, we gave a new recipe a try. Instead of regular or almond milk, we used Nestle NIDO – a powdered milk specially formulated with all the goodness of milk, in addition to a variety of vitamins and minerals such as Iron, Calcium, Folic Acid and Zinc. I let my son choose his favorite recipe and he chose Blueberry Banana Shake. Blueberries are great for its antioxidants flavonoids – brain food! Bananas are great for potassium which is an electrolyte and is a preferred natural sugar. All these health benefits of the fruits in combination with Nestle NIDO makes this mama feel great about making these shakes for snacks and supplements. Plus, making shakes with my son is bonus for making memories!

Nutritional Facts Nestle NIDO

The recipe for the Blueberry-Banana NIDO shake is super simple. Combine 8 oz. of Nestle NIDO mixture, 1/4 cup of frozen blueberries (frozen berries keep from having to add ice), one sliced banana. Blend on HIGH for approximately 30 seconds or until fully blended. Serve in your child’s favorite cup! **Increase amount of NIDO or add to milk for children over age of 4.
