Latino Arists Featured in El Corazón de San Antonio

I can’t believe I’ve not been to the Contemporary Latino Art exhibit yet. Thanks to my dear friend, Inga from SA Charter Moms, I visited the Educational & Cultural Arts Center Texas A & M University-San Antonio.

This exhibit is El corazón de San Antonio – an exhibition that surveys the wealth of talent in San Antonio’s Latin@ arts community centering on the people, places and things closest to the heart.

We walked through the exhibit talking about what we felt the artists were portraying in each piece. The entire exhibit does touch your heart because when someone shares their home woth you, it always does.

I appreciated that the curator chose pieces that represented various perceptions of San Antonio and how they perceive themselves in the city or what’s happening here.

Pieces date from 1970’s to 2014. The exhibit does close on August 31st. It’s free and open to the public.  Don’t miss this if you want a feel of what local artists see as their piece of corazón in San Antonio.

The Educational & Cultural Arts Center is located at 101 S. Santa Rosa Ave, San Antonio,  TX 78207. Visit www.tamusa-ecac.com for more information.
