Looking Out for Each Other Makes Us La Famila de Hoy #LaFamiladeHoy

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Johnson & Johnson and Latina Bloggers Connect.

silly boys quemeanswhatMy two boys are niños locos. We wanted and prayed for boys and boy, did we get them! They are quite a bit como su papá – they are handsome, adventurous and very, very silly.

While we may have boys, we are so blessed that my sister-in-law has two girls, our adorable nieces. I think mi suegra got all that she wanted in the two grandsons and two granddaughters whom we delivered within five years, hee hee. It’s been a blast! Plus, we get to pass down to  a new generation what our cultura is all about – together. I am truly grateful that all the primos get along and actually want to be with one another. Even though they are still small, they all look out for each other, too. It’s precious. Looking out for familia is something children learn from their parents, no?

My my sister-in-law and mother-in-law definitely look out for us. Last weekend, my husband and I had date night and they took all four kids swimming. Admittedly, it makes me nervous for my kids to be in a big pool when I’m not around. However, they did great. The only thing that happened was that my youngest turned up with some co-co’s or boo-boo’s on his feet from the rough surface of the bottom of the pool. Phew!

Neosporin La Familia de Hoy QueMeansWhat

Those co-co’s are easy to take care of. Since I know mi hijo won’t stay still for long, I’m glad I had a fresh tube of Neosporin on hand thanks to a care package from Johnson & Johnson. It helps heal wounds four days faster (than a bandage alone) and it provides 24-Hour infection protection. We are an active family and the as the kids get older, I’m sure there will be more co-co‘s to tend to.

#LaFamiliadeHoy

Last Fall, I introduced you to Johnson & Johnson’s online competition to find La Familia de Hoy in Family Choices Make Today’s Modern Family #LaFamiladeHoy.

In December 2012, Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies revealed the Jiménez family as LA FAMILIA DE HOY™. Juan, Biviana and their three children: Elisa, Diego and Benicio are a modern, active, multicultural family – representative of all the values that Hispanics relate to and care about.

Just like us, The Jimenez Family shares a special bond, too. The family of five is part of a larger family: The Jimenez brothers are 4, 3 wives, 8 children and one grandmother. They all are constantly looking out for each other, whether it is babysitting each other’s children, attending family gatherings on special occasions, or weekend BBQ’s. Their commitment in life is to pass on their traditional values and Hispanic roots in the younger generation. Y eso es la familia.
