Queridos, are you ready to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of this classic film from master director Steve Spielberg?

In case you forgot (because the movie was released in 1981!), let me remind you about this cliffhanger of a movie. The year is 1936, and professor of archeology and “obtainer of rare antiquities” Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is tasked by U.S. Army Intelligence to recover the legendary Ark of the Covenant before it falls into the hands of the Nazis. Indy’s quest takes him to Nepal and Egypt, reuniting him with an old friend (John Rhys-Davies), an old foe (Paul Freeman), and an ex-flame (Karen Allen) who falls somewhere in between. Armed with his hat, whip and wits, our intrepid hero must face formidable enemies – and impossible odds – to save the day and the world.

On Friday, February 19, 2016 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre, audiences of all ages can experience Raiders of the Lost Ark, as the John Williams’ Academy Award-winning score is performed live by the San Antonio Symphony in sync with the full feature film projected on a huge HD screen.

Indiana Jones became one of my all time favorite heroes for his uncanny ability to extricate himself from dangerous situations, often times in a comical manner.

Not only was Indy Daddy Benny’s all-time favorite male protagonist, but his character was also a vital teaching tool as I grew up. Through Indiana Jones, Dad taught me to that no situation was too dire that a reason to find a smile cannot be found/created through a joke, to face our fears head on, and that, though always annoying, your parents will always be a treasured part of your life.

I grew up with a dad who looked a lot like Harrison ford, and we Loved these movies because of the intelligent guy getting to be a hero :). I had to introduce my hubby to the movies (he lost out growing up), but now he’s a fan as well 🙂
