E.T. in San Antonio Kicks Off SA Symphony’s Movie & Music Concert Series #ETinSA

Hola Moviegoers! The San Antonio Symphony has something fun in store for you. Following up on the success of last year’s two-part movie concert series, the San Antonio Symphony and the Majestic Theatre announce the 2015-2016 movie and music concert series beginning with the iconic film from master director Steven Spielberg – E.T.: the Extra Terrestrial.

On September 11, 2015 at 8 p.m. and September 12, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., Director Steven Spielberg’s heartwarming masterpiece comes to the Majestic Theatre. Filled with unparalleled magic and imagination, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial follows the moving story of a lost little alien who befriends a 10-year-old boy named Elliott. Experience all the mystery and fun of their unforgettable adventure in the beloved movie that captivated audiences around the world, complete with John Williams’ Academy Award®-winning score performed live by the San Antonio Symphony in sync to the film projected on a huge HD screen!

The E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial Concert is just the beginning of a Movie and Music Concert Series that will also feature Raiders of the Lost Ark on February 19 – 20, Windborne’s The Music of Queen on October 23 and The Music of Led Zeppelin on October 24.

“We are focusing on a time period of incredible artistic output in both film and the world of rock–n-roll, and are excited about continuing our relationship with the Majestic Theatre to bring these fantastic performances to San Antonio,” said David Gross, San Antonio Symphony President. “These live performances from your San Antonio Symphony will not only enhance the film watching experience for these beloved classics, but it will also bring a new appreciation for the artistry of these rock bands and their wonderful compositions.”

According to Mike Rilley, Majestic & Empire Theatres General Manager, these internationally touring concerts enable local music and movie lovers the opportunity to experience a live performance with incredible local talent. “The Majestic is a wonderful venue for these programs, as it provides concertgoers with an acoustic sensory experience unlike any other. We are thrilled to host the Symphony again to bring San Antonio the best in live concert music.”

    I love the scene where Elliot and his friends ride their bikes into the sky. And of course, any scene with little Drew Barrymore in it!

  2. This sounds like so much fun!!! Ahhhh! I loved E.T. when I was younger. I loved how the little boy took him in and took care of him. It really shows how caring children can be in a world where adults can be so harsh in. Thanks for sharing! Hopefully I can make it out to a show!
